Fredd the alligator is the largest alligator in the world, measured by the National Wildlife Federation at twenty-five feet from nose to tail.

Fredd gained sentience through contact with Gregg, and Gregg learned much of what he knew early on through Fredd's tutelege.

He became a familiar of Gregg during Gregg's rebirth on Earth by means of an intentional blood transfusion.
